October 2, 2026 – Clinics Can Help (CCH), a leading nonprofit provider of durable medical equipment and supplies throughout South Florida, is launching The Caring Circle, a new community of major donors committed to expanding access to
life-changing medical equipment for individuals and families across Palm Beach County.
CCH is proud to welcome James Juracka and Monica Okuno as the Founding Champions of the Caring Circle. The initiative recognizes individuals who make unrestricted annual gifts of $1,000 or more, providing Clinics Can Help with the flexible, sustained funding needed to respond to the community’s most urgent medical equipment needs.
For more than 20 years, Clinics Can Help has provided free durable medical equipment (DME) — including wheelchairs, hospital beds, walkers, shower chairs, patient lifts and safe cribs — to children, adults, seniors, veterans and disaster survivors who might otherwise go without. Through its Lending Closet Program, CCH operates Florida’s largest nonprofit DME reuse effort, collecting gently used equipment, refurbishing it to the highest standards and redistributing it at no cost. The organization serves more than 5,000 people annually while also keeping thousands of pounds of medical equipment out of landfills.
As demand for CCH’s services continues to grow by an estimated 8% each year, unrestricted individual support has become increasingly important. With an estimated 200,000 Palm Beach County residents lacking health insurance, these flexible gifts allow Clinics Can Help to direct resources where they are needed most, without being restricted to a particular program, population or grant requirement.
Juracka, a retired investment professional, and Okuno have been longtime supporters of Clinics Can Help, giving generously to the organization for more than a decade.
Juracka also serves on the board of the Frenchman’s Reserve Charitable Foundation and brings both a deep understanding of CCH’s mission and a personal connection to the organization’s work.
“The Caring Circle is about more than philanthropy — it is about ensuring Clinics Can Help has the resources to say yes when someone needs help,” said Owen O’Neill, CEO of Clinics Can Help. “James and Monica’s longstanding commitment to our mission
makes them the ideal Founding Champions. Their commitment reflects exactly the kind of sustained, unrestricted support that allows us to meet urgent needs as they arise.”
Through the Caring Circle, Clinics Can Help hopes to build a growing community of donors who share a commitment to medical equity and believe that access to essential medical equipment should not depend on a person’s ability to pay. Members will play a vital role in helping CCH continue to provide equipment that promotes mobility, independence, dignity and a better quality of life for people throughout the community. “Monica and I are honored to help launch the Caring Circle,” said Juracka. “We’ve seen firsthand what a difference Clinics Can Help makes — providing medical equipment to thousands of people who otherwise would go without.”
