Fundraising milestone puts independent not-for-profit on par with academic health systems
November 3, 2026 – Jupiter Medical Center Foundation raised more than $102 million in philanthropic support during fiscal year 2026, marking the largest fundraising year in its history and a milestone aligned with much larger academic and multi-hospital health systems. The Foundation’s record-breaking success reflects a 61% increase in giving over the past three years.
More than 2,300 donors contributed between October 1, 2025, and September 30, 2026, fueling the continued transformation of Jupiter Medical Center (JMC), the region’s only independent, not-for-profit health system, anchored by a 340-bed hospital. Their support is accelerating investments in physician recruitment, advanced technology, expanded specialty services, research and future facilities designed to meet the growing healthcare needs of Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.
“This milestone reflects a historic and transformative year for the future of healthcare for the region,” said Amit Rastogi, MD, MHCM, President and CEO of Jupiter Medical Center. “Across the country, communities are grappling with how to preserve local access to advanced care. Our donors have sent a powerful message that they want top-tier healthcare available to the community, and they are willing to invest in making that vision a reality.”
The fundraising success advances Jupiter Medical Center’s $500 million Generational Health campaign, a long-term initiative supporting the organization’s strategic vision to expand service lines, deliver leading-edge specialty care, recruit nationally recognized physicians, invest in next-generation technology and develop facilities capable of serving a rapidly growing region. The campaign has currently raised more than $293 million toward its goal and is on track to end a full year ahead of schedule because of this year’s fundraising momentum.
“There was a time when patients in our community felt they needed to travel to the Northeast to access highly specialized care,” continued Rastogi, who has overseen the hospital’s transformation since 2019. “Instead, now we have patients heading south for high-quality care at Jupiter Medical Center. Times have changed, largely thanks to the unwavering support of our donors.”
Jupiter Medical Center is currently undergoing the most transformative period. The health system has significantly expanded its clinical capabilities and physical footprint by creating and growing the Anderson Family Cancer Institute, developing the comprehensive Robson Heart and Vascular Institute, opening the state-of-the-art Johnny and Terry Gray Surgical Institute, and adding the highly specialized 92-bed Tim and Jayne Donahue Patient Care Tower. Looking ahead, the medical center plans to open its second hospital in Avenir in early 2028 and will soon break ground on the Margaret W. Niedland Breast Center expansion to increase access to advanced imaging services. Together, these investments have transformed Jupiter Medical Center into a leading regional healthcare destination. This growth reflects the hospital’s continued evolution as a comprehensive health system with increasingly sophisticated clinical capabilities across a broad range of specialties.
In January 2026, the Foundation announced a $35 million donation from Tim and Jayne Donahue to support the hospital’s Patient Care Tower. Within 90 days, the community responded by investing another $35 million in new pledges, additions to existing pledges, and donations from new donors – all inspired by the Donahues’ transformative investment. The momentum continued from there.
“Many of our philanthropic supporters have experienced the care provided at Jupiter Medical Center firsthand, either as patients or through their loved ones,” said Traci Simonsen, Chief Philanthropy Officer of Jupiter Medical Center Foundation. “Their generosity reflects trust in our mission and a shared belief that families deserve access to exceptional healthcare close to home. We are incredibly proud of what our community has made possible, and in many ways, we are just getting started. As an independent, not-for-profit health system, continued philanthropic support is essential to our mission in order to meet the needs for generations to come.”
Donor support is helping expand high-demand areas, including oncology, heart and vascular care, urology, gastroenterology, pulmonology, neurosciences, orthopedics, and women’s and infant’s services. The investments are intended to help patients access increasingly sophisticated care.
As healthcare organizations nationwide face increasing financial pressures, the Foundation’s record-breaking fundraising year demonstrates the powerful role philanthropy can play in helping independent hospitals remain innovative, responsive, community-focused and offer services philanthropic dollars can help provide.
