Health care in South Florida’s underserved communities received a boost at the 12th Annual Health Choice Network of Florida awards benefit. More than $100,000 was raised to help fund
preventative programs that address health disparities in minority communities.

Carvalho was recognized for his support of HCN of Florida’s Health Connect in Our Schools. Dr. Robert Schwartz was honored as an early visionary of the South Florida Health Information Exchange and early adopter of electronic health records to improve patient care.
Community Partner Honorees were William O’Leary, Executive Director of Health Policy for Microsoft and Steven R. Nomandin, President of AMD Global Telemedicine.
