February 17, 2022 – Baptist Health South Florida today announced that Adelaide Skoglund has been appointed to the Board of Directors for Baptist Health Medical Group. As board member, Mrs. Skoglund will play an active role in furthering the organization’s mission of providing the highest quality care to patients.

“We are pleased to welcome Adelaide Skoglund to the Baptist Health Medical Group Board of Directors,” said Bernie Fernandez, M.D., chief executive officer of Baptist Health Medical Group. “Her dedication to philanthropy, leadership and service to the community will make her an outstanding addition to our board.”

Ms. Skoglund grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina, and graduated from Sweet Briar College in Amherst, Virginia, in 1970. She married John C. Skoglund in 1976, and the couple moved to Minneapolis.

“Mrs. Skoglund has championed the importance of philanthropy for decades, and we couldn’t be more excited to have her join our board,” said Bill Tillett, Baptist Health Medical Group Board Chair. “Given her diligence, leadership and standing commitment to Baptist Health Medical Group, I am confident that she will bring a fresh perspective and valuable guidance as we continue to develop innovative programs.”

When her husband passed away in 1999, Ms. Skoglund began spending more time in Florida. She is an active member of the Ocean Reef Club; founder of the Boutique D’Reef, a 30-year-old fundraiser that has raised nearly $2 million for The Medical Center at Ocean Reef; and founder and board member of Bonefish and Tarpon Trust, an environmental organization focusing on the preservation and enhancement of those species. Ms. Skoglund is also a board member of the Medical Center at Ocean Reef and served as chair from 2012 to 2014. She is currently chair of the Medical Center Foundation. She is also a member of the MCOR/BH Advisory Board Committee.
