As a Medicare-certified home health agency, All County Health Care provides patients throughout South Florida with caring, compassionate, and cost-effective home health care tailored to their individual needs. Medicare Part A covers home health at no cost to the patient who has the right to select a Medicare provider of their choice.

Located in Lauderdale Lakes, Florida, All County is licensed in Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties. Since its founding by Cynthia Baker McDonald in 1990, All County has maintained that quality health care should extend beyond the patient’s hospital stay to the comfort of their own home. Its professional staff works with patients and physicians to provide quality home health care services that meet the medical and personal needs of each patient.

“A commitment and dedication to quality is the overriding principle guiding us at All County Health Care,” according to Vice-President Louis Biasi. “Our goal is to always provide quality care for seniors,” he says. “Being a senior myself, I want to give our patients the best possible care whatever the cost and I don’t want them shortchanged by someone only interested in the bottom line. I attribute our success to our field staff of RNs, LPNs, PTS, OTs, and Behavioral and Speech Therapists and our office staff which includes our Director of Nursing, Administrator, and case managers. They are all focused on one thing—to make sure that each patient receives the best quality care.”

In fact, Biasi adds that if anyone calls the agency at any time a live person answers the phone. “I’m old-fashioned,” he says. “We don’t instruct a caller to press one or press two. We want to make it easier not more difficult for our patients and their families and physicians to get in touch with us, so they can speak with a live person 24 hours a day 7 days a week.”

This dedication to quality patient care has resulted in All County’s recent 4.5 Star (out of 5) overall rating for 2018 by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services as well as a 5-star rating in customer satisfaction. This rating underscores All County’s focus on providing quality home health services to patients in the tri-county area.

“Today medicine is all about money,” says Biasi. “We’ve been locally owned and operated for over 25 years. We’re not run by Big Pharma or a big corporation that has to focus on the bottom line. We continue to look for ways to improve our services and give the best possible care.”

Biasi explains that the agency is always seeking new avenues to service their patients as well. In addition to providing skilled nursing, physical and occupational therapy, and behavioral health All County also specializes in a number of areas, including cardiac care, wound care, diabetes care, and low-vision rehabilitation services. All County also has a pulmonary team dedicated to treating patients with COPD using IPV (intrapulmonary percussive ventilator) therapy and is the only home health agency in the tri-county area that provides this innovative service.

“Everyone in this industry offers the same type of services but we wanted to go beyond that,” says Biasi. “For example, we added a behavioral health team and invested over 100,000 dollars in IPV therapy equipment and training. We can treat patients at home with the same type of equipment used in hospitals. Patients who suffer from COPD and other respiratory ailments are readmitted to the hospital often within 15 days of discharge. With our IPV treatments, we have drastically reduced hospital readmissions and improved the quality of life of our patients to the point where many do not need to be readmitted to the hospital.”

All County also sponsors a weekly radio show called "You and Your Doctor: Live Longer and Healthier," which airs on Tuesday evenings. The program is broadcast live from 6 to 7 pm and also airs on Friday evenings from 5:30 to 6 pm. The show can be heard on 95.3 FM and 1470 AM and is live-streamed on All County Health Care’s Facebook page.

“We sponsor the radio show because we want to inform seniors on health-related topics,” says Biasi. “Through the program, we educate the public about what is new and what’s happening in the field of medicine by interviewing different physicians across South Florida. It gets a tremendous amount of listeners. We reach nearly 3 million people in the course of each week.”

During the show, guest physicians have the opportunity to talk about what they specialize in as well as discuss their practice and new developments in their field of expertise.

No matter what patients are coping with—chronic illness or healing from an injury—Biasi stresses that All County has the right resources to help them manage their condition while still living at home.

“We started as a private duty agency taking care of the sick and elderly and helping them with activities of daily living with home health aides,” Biasi says. “Now when a doctor’s family member or friend gets sick they call us first. Patients are able to choose which Medicare-certified home health agency they want to use. We’re the agency that physicians choose to take care of their loved ones. Hopefully, you will consider All County Health Care for your home care needs."
