October 22 2020 – On Friday, October 23, the Alliance for Aging, a not-for-profit organization devoted to caring for older people in the Miami-Dade and Monroe Counties, is holding its virtual fundraiser. The New Face of Aging conference series aims to bring professionals and the community together to learn how we can collectively work to increase the quality of life of older adults, even in this time of COVID. Special guests include Pulitzer Prize finalist and New York Times bestselling author, Dr. Louise Aronson; Miami-Dade County Commissioner Dennis C. Moss; Dr. Marc Agronin; community leaders including Ron Book; and health care executives from ChenMed, AvMed, UnitedHealthcare, and many more.
There are two more events in the series, both of which are free to the public. The October 23 event runs from 12:30-2:30 Eastern time and includes an interactive presentation by the experts of the MIND Institute of Miami Jewish Health titled “Thriving with Dementia: A New Focus on Strengths.” Each event offers a virtual expo hall with more than 25 companies providing free resources, peer-to-peer networking, and a keynote address.
