Arfinn Learning Solutions, Inc., the company behind www.arfinnmed.com, an online peer-to-peer portal for medical professionals to share HIPAA protected patient treatments and efficacies for cannabis and other non-traditional practices, continues to grow.
Earlier in the year, it added some important features while also gaining valuable analytics regarding their own practice. For instance, its free Electronic Medical Records services allow physicians to easily schedule appointments, create templates to quickly generate exam notes, and have access to updated analytics regarding treatment options. It also added a patient portal and a text message tool that automatically is sent to patients asking for them to rate their symptom improvement.
It recently released more new features that James West, Arfinn CEO and founder, is really excited about.“We have worked for over two years to make our platform a one-stop shop for medical marijuana clinics,” he says. “We are constantly trying to save our doctors time, so we just released free online patient intake and consent forms that allow patients to complete those before an appointment and automatically transfer to patient files. With all the demands put on MMJ clinics, we think this feature, along with our efficacy tracking functions, are game changers.”
Arfinn also has a physician directory now that allows patients to search for doctors who are actively monitoring and tracking patient outcomes and who are participating in Arfinn’s system.
“Patients really like having that relationship/communication with their doctor,” says West.
West adds that the company also takes great pride in offering an education component to the platform – that comes in the form of aggregating research articles, allowing the users to pull efficacy reports.
“We are also doing regular webinars on arfinnmed.com with leaders in the industry,” he says. “Our most recent webinar was with Dr. Trinh from the Physicians CBD Council and covered the endocannabinoid system. A big point of difference with our product revolves around education and collaboration, and we are very excited about these free webinars.”
Leaders in research and medical marijuana medicine often host Arfinn’s webinars, notes West. “We also like to keep our topics current so our webinars can immediately be put to use. They are quick, informative and free. We are also open to doctors submitting proposals for future webinars. It’s a great way to actively contribute to this community.”
Educating physicians on the use of cannabis has become critical in this burgeoning industry.
That is one of the reasons why Arfinn offers real-time data that comes directly from clinics. That is important since research is still difficult to come by, West says.
“We believe that education and data on cannabinoid medicine is crucial to reduce the stigma surrounding it and help real patients who are suffering,” he says. “We are filling that void in research that is still slow to come out.”
Medical professionals using www.arfinnmed.com have access to a dashboard showing their patients’ cannabis treatments and efficacies. And now, thanks to a patient-facing database on the website, patients now have access to important information as well.
“Patients can run reports to see the efficacy of any condition/symptom and the effects of cannabis on the symptom relief of that condition,” says West. “We have found that most patients who are interested in data for cannabinoid medicine, are also interested in finding doctors who are actively participating in the medical community and actively monitoring their treatment which our platform automatically does.”
