“The only way to know if your joint pain is due to arthritis or wear-and-tear that has damaged the cartilage and deteriorated the joint over time is to seek medical attention,” said Stephen Swirsky, D.O., orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist with the Broward Health Physician Group.

The hospital’s Cardiovascular Surgery Advanced Projects Laboratory (CSAPL) is now using emerging mixed reality technology to support planning of complex congenital heart procedures and help patient families visualize how the surgical team will conduct repairs. The technology is also being used to support clinical classroom learning in association with medical education partners.
