With the addition of general and minimally invasive surgeons Juan-Carlos Verdeja, M.D., Jorge Rabaza, M.D. and Anthony Gonzalez, M.D., Baptist Health Medical Group has expanded to more than 80 physicians in multiple specialties.
Dr. Verdeja is the founding president of the medical staff at West Kendall Baptist Hospital. He is director of minimally invasive surgery at Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim School of Medicine, as well as a clinical associate professor in the department of surgery. In addition, he is the chief of surgery at South Miami Hospital and a clinical assistant professor in the department of surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Rabaza is former president of the medical staff at South Miami Hospital. He is a voluntary assistant professor of surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine.
Dr. Gonzalez is chief of surgery at Baptist Hospital and medical director of bariatric services for Baptist Health. He is a voluntary assistant professor of surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine and clinical assistant professor of surgery at Florida International University’s Herbert Wertheim School of Medicine.
