Effective today, Tuesday, June 16, Baptist Health has new visiting guidelines.

They are as follows:

Baptist Health Hospitals

Inpatient Units:
One adult visitor (age 18 years or older) allowed at a time, from 3 p.m. – 9 p.m.
Patients with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 will not be allowed visitors except under exceptional circumstances.

Labor & Delivery and Maternity:
One partner may stay continuously with a patient in Labor & Delivery/Maternity.  At facilities where social distancing is possible, one adult visitor may be allowed during hospital visiting hours.  Please confirm with your hospital.

Baptist Health Outpatient Facilities including Emergency Departments and Urgent Care Centers:
One adult visitor may accompany patients at all times at our outpatient locations including outpatient surgery centers, emergency departments and urgent care centers.

Baptist Health Physician Offices:
One adult visitor may accompany a patient at most physician offices. Due to space limitations, and in order to keep social distancing, some physician offices may not be able to accommodate visitors.  If you have an appointment at a physician’s office, please call ahead to confirm visitor guidelines at that location.

Miami Cancer Institute and Lynn Cancer Institute:
To continue protecting our immunocompromised cancer patients from the risks of COVID-19, no visitors will be able to accompany adult patients for the duration of this pandemic.

There will be special circumstances when it will be necessary for a single adult visitor to accompany a patient. Limited exceptions may include: new patients, pediatric patients, adult patients with identified neurocognitive impairment, and patients with a physical impairment that requires special assistance by their caretaker, as determined by their clinical team.

All visitors must be 18 or older and will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms and exposure.  Anyone displaying symptoms or risk of exposure will not be allowed to visit.  Masks are required to be worn at all times at our facilities, and will be provided upon entry.  All visitors will need to follow social distancing guidelines, and waiting rooms and other common areas will be monitored to ensure social distancing.
