Forum to focus on telemedicine, data analytics, health care transformation and compliance

Attorneys from Broad and Cassel’s nationally recognized Health Law Practice Group alongside professionals from some of the nation’s leading health care companies will discuss today’s rapidly changing health care landscape at the annual Broad and Cassel Health Forum October 2.

Now celebrating its fifth year, the event’s keynote speakers include Fred Bayon, managing director with The Advisory Board Company, and Paul DeMuro, of counsel with Broad and Cassel. Bayon will provide a look at the future of health care, and DeMuro will talk the value of data analytics and its role in today’s health care environment. DeMuro recently earned a doctorate degree in biomedical informatics, an area key to the transition from fee-for-service medicine to the evolving payment-for-quality and cost-effective models, which are becoming increasingly prevalent in our health care delivery system.

Several panel discussions will take place throughout the day, including one on compliance moderated by Broad and Cassel Managing Partner and Nationally Known Health Law Attorney Gabriel Imperato. Additionally, Stephen Siegel, of counsel for the firm, will moderate a panel on telemedicine. The third panel will cover health care transformation and the movement from volume to value-based reimbursement. Other Broad and Cassel attorneys will join as panelists, including Partners Vanessa Reynolds and Michael Bittman.

Sponsors for the Health Forum include HIPAA-HITECH-SOLUTIONS, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, SunTrust, ProAssurance Companies, Broward County Medical Association, South Florida Medical Group Management Association, Palm Beach County Medical Society, Dade County Medical Association, South Florida Hospital and Healthcare Association, and South Florida Hospital News.
