May 6 2020 – Broward Health Foundation received a donation of hand sanitizer from Tito’s Handmade Vodka on Monday, May 4.

Tito’s donation of 300 spray bottles and a 55-gallon drum of alcohol-based sanitizer comes at a time when the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends people clean their hands regularly to limit the spread of infections such as COVID-19. When soap and water aren’t available to rid hands of germs, the CDC suggests using a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. The hand sanitizer should be placed all over the hands and then the hands should be rubbed until they feel dry.

“We appreciate Tito’s helping our community and the Broward Health family stay safe during these challenging times,” said Bill Diggs, president of Broward Health Foundation. “This donation will immensely help our patients and visitors remain healthy.”

The Foundation has recently established a fund to benefit Broward Health employees who are experiencing financial hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. To support their initiative, visit BrowardHealthFoundation.org.
