Broward Health Imperial Point (BHIP) will once again be a sponsor of this year’s Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride Parade & Festival on Saturday, June 16, starting at 4 p.m. The free event will feature a parade and an array of entertainers and vendors. It commemorates the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York City that became a turning point for the modern gay rights’ movement.

BHIP will have a vendor booth in the red section, where staff will be providing information on the services provided and visitors can take their turn on the BHIP prize wheel.

“We are proud to again be a sponsor of the Wilton Manors Stonewall Pride Parade & Festival,” said Broward Health president and CEO, Beverly Capasso. “Broward Health is committed to increasing access to quality care and promoting health and wellness to all we serve.”

BHIP’s commitment to the LGBTQ community is evident in the hospital’s policies and practices that support diversity and inclusion, including staff training and community outreach. BHIP has recently received the “Top Performer” designation on the Healthcare Equality Index, a national LGBTQ benchmarking tool administered by the Human Rights Campaign.

The hospital also has a robust year-round community outreach program that includes sponsoring the Pride Center at Equality Park’s annual Senior Health Expo in October, the Rainbow 5K race in February, and the Stonewall Pride Parade & Festival.  For more information on their inclusive care, please visit https://www.browardhealth.org/pages/equality-lgbtq.
