Katelyn Thomson, RN, has always had passion for caring for others and making a positive impact in their lives. Thomson serves as a charge nurse at Broward Health Medical Center, caring for cardiac patients, many of whom have undergone open-heart surgery or experienced neurological events like strokes.

“Taking care of my patients is what fuels my passion,” said Thomson. “When you see the difference you make in their lives, every effort feels purposeful and every moment worthwhile.”

Thomson also enjoys mentoring newly graduated nurses. She finds it deeply rewarding to help her peers grow in their careers, and in doing so, she finds it helps her become a better leader.

Thomson earned her associate’s degree at Keiser University. Her goal is to further her education and become a nurse practitioner in psychiatry.
