Broward Health Medical Center has named Alex Fernandez chief financial officer.
 
Fernandez brings more than 12 years of healthcare experience to Broward Health, combining leadership roles in finance and operations with a background in accounting. Most recently, he served as chief operating officer for Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach, where he worked in guiding their ancillary and support departments. Previously, he served as chief financial officer for North Shore Medical Center in Miami and held positions in the finance departments at St. Mary’s Medical Center in West Palm Beach.
 
Fernandez is a certified public accountant and a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. He has bachelor’s degrees in finance and multinational business from Florida State University and another in accounting from Florida Atlantic University, where he also obtained a master’s degree in business administration.
