Phyllis McCarthy, R.N., CPHQ, has been named coordinator of epidemiology at Broward Health North (BHN).In 1982, McCarthy started her nursing career at BHN and served as charge nurse in telemetry for more than 10 years. She also was a cardiac health educator for the cardiac special care unit for 3 years. In the late 90s she transferred to the quality management department as a quality management specialist and in 2008 she became a staff member of the epidemiology department.
McCarthy has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and education from Richmond College in Staten Island, New York and received her nursing degree from Broward College.
