The International Assistance Group (IAG) has selected Broward Health as its first healthcare system partner in the United States. Broward Health joins IAG’s worldwide network of assistance companies, specialized providers, healthcare institutions, roadside services and other organizations within the assistance industry.
In addition to the partnership with IAG, Broward Health International recently was named Medical Provider of the Year at the 2013 International Travel & Health Insurance Journal Awards in Vienna, Austria. The awards honor companies specializing in travel assistance and insurance, air ambulance operators and healthcare organizations, recognized for delivering outstanding service or unrivalled innovation over the previous year.
Broward Health hospitals provide care and treatment each year for more than 2,500 international patient visits. Some are U.S. travelers who are sick or injured abroad. Some are passengers of cruise ships originating from or returning to Port Everglades in Fort Lauderdale. Many are patients who seek treatment in the United States for quality medical care and services unavailable in their home lands. Broward Health International’s services include physician referral, medical documentation for Visas, organizing physician and hospital visits, air ambulance coordination, travel planning assistance to for family members, hotel accommodations, translation services and financial arrangements.
