September 26, 2023 – Broward Health has been recognized as a top performer in the 2023 Supplier Diversity Excellence Ranking by Vizient, Inc. Broward Health was recognized in the Large, Specialized Complex Care Medical Centers cohort as a champion of supply chain inclusion and for accelerating economic growth in its local community through the engagement, empowerment, and utilization of minority business enterprises.

This year, 113 Vizient provider customers were divided into four cohorts, and scoring for the awards was based on purchasing data from July 1, 2022, through June 30, 2023.

Additionally, Vizient recognized the hospital system for its achievements in supply chain savings by demonstrating excellence in lowering costs in the supply chain for the fifth consecutive year. The hospitals that were recognized in this category streamlined purchasing practices in designated product categories, earning rebates and in many cases attaining lower pricing from manufacturers.
