June 14, 2023 – The City of Fort Lauderdale has inducted Broward Health’s President & CEO Shane Strum into its Walk of Fame. The ceremony took place on May 27 at Las Olas Oceanside Park during the Great American Beach Party.
“I love Broward County. I’m a Fort Lauderdale resident, and I’m passionate about what this city continues to become and all the great things that we continue to do,” Strum said. “Broward Health couldn’t be prouder of serving this population and all its healthcare needs.”
Fort Lauderdale Mayor Dean Trantalis awarded Strum with a commemorative paver that was placed on the Walk of Fame to memorialize his exceptional accomplishments.
Strum has a legacy of public service spanning nearly three decades. He leads Broward Health, one of the nation’s 10 largest public healthcare systems with an operational budget of $1.5 billion and more than 10,000 employees and physicians.
The induction highlights Strum’s commitment to serving the local community. He is a respected and influential leader with an impressive record of executive experience that has resulted in numerous benefits for residents of Fort Lauderdale and beyond. He has also led initiatives that have lowered the cost of prescription drugs, expanded telehealth services, improved transparency and quality in healthcare and increased awareness of mental health and substance abuse issues throughout the state.
The Fort Lauderdale Walk of Fame launched in 2010, and Strum is one of 50 honorees to be inducted.
