The new year began with a sweet surprise for Tangy Hiott-Sands, 33, and Maurice Sands, 40. On Jan. 1, 2020 at 1:08 a.m., the Fort Lauderdale couple welcomed their daughter Taylor at Salah Foundation Children’s Hospital at Broward Health.
Taylor weighed 6 pounds, 7 ounces and was 19.4 inches long. She is the youngest of six children.
Taylor’s siblings “wanted a baby brother but they are excited for their sister,” Tangy Hiott-Sands told CBS Miami from her hospital room. Dad was equally excited to welcome a healthy child on the first day of the new year. “I am so happy today,” he told the local TV station.
