Marcos Nores, M.D., is a board-certified cardiac surgeon and medical director of Christine E. Lynn Heart & Vascular Institute, part of Baptist Health Heart & Vascular Care. He specializes in mitral valve repair, thoracic aortic surgery, coronary reoperations, and transcatheter treatments for structural heart disease. Before joining Baptist Health, Dr. Nores served as director of one of the busiest cardiovascular surgical programs in Palm Beach County, where his team achieved a three-star Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) designation in both coronary artery bypass grafting and valvular heart disease, reflecting sustained excellence in risk-adjusted outcomes. He also established and led the region’s highest-volume complex aortic surgery program, focusing on aortic root and arch reconstruction and management of complex thoracic aortic pathology. Dr. Nores earned his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine in Argentina. He completed an internship at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston, a residency in general surgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and a cardiothoracic surgery fellowship at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He completed advanced training and served as a clinical associate at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio. Board-certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery, he has published peer-reviewed research and served as principal investigator on national structural heart trials involving aortic, mitral, and tricuspid transcatheter valve platforms.
