As the medical director for cardiac imaging operations at Memorial Healthcare System, Dr. Vamsi Pavuluri sees imaging as the central hub that ties all cardiac specialties together.
“While we may not see as many patients as other cardiologists, that doesn’t mean we aren’t helping plan and guide care for those with coronary artery, structural and valvular diseases,” said Dr. Pavuluri, whose internship, residency and fellowship training were done at the University of Connecticut Health Center. “The detailed information and recommendations we provide specialists in those areas leads to better downstream treatment and risk reduction.”
A non-invasive cardiologist whose uncle was also a cardiologist, Dr. Pavuluri has spent nearly a decade at Memorial, with its Cardiac and Vascular Institute being his professional home since fellowship training. His focus then, as it is now, is to use advanced imaging modalities to provide specific answers to patient symptoms that can have multiple causes.
