Cedars Medical Center is pleased to announce Anthony M. Degina, Jr. as their new Chief Executive Officer.
Tony has over twenty-two years of healthcare experience and has been with the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) for over fourteen years. Most recently Tony served as the CEO of Plantation General Hospital. Prior to this, he spent five years at Deering Hospital where he held the title of Chief Executive Officer for four years and Chief Operating Officer for one.
Tony is a dedicated member of the community and is actively involved in many organizations. He is the Chairman of the SFHHA EMS work group, a member of the Broward Workforce One Development Board, Chairman of the Gateway 7 Development District Advisory Board, a Board Member of the South Florida Hospital & Healthcare Assoc and a member of the Board of Directors for the Epilepsy Foundation of South Florida. Tony served as President of the Epilepsy Foundation of South Florida from 2002 2004. He was the Healthcare Division Chairman for the United Way of Broward County during the 2000/2001 Campaign and was a member of the Board of Directors for the United Way of Broward County from 2000 2004. In addition, Tony was Secretary of Broward County Health Facilities Authority from 1999 2003 and is a member of the Broward Coalition on Aging.
Tony received his Bachelors of Health Care Administration from Providence College in Providence, RI, and his Masters of Hospital Administration from Trinity University in San Antonio, TX.
