The American College of Healthcare Architects (ACHA) has announced that Charles Michelson AIA LEED AP has earned his board certification in healthcare architecture. Charles passed an accredited examination that assesses the knowledge and understanding of architects specializing in healthcare. ACHA require its certificate holders to work towards the improvement of healthcare architecture on behalf of the public, to practice in an ethical manner and to maintain the highest standards in the specialized field of healthcare architecture.
With more than 33 years of healthcare project experience, Mr. Michelson is the principal of Saltz Michelson Architects and a licensed architect in Florida. His design expertise includes healthcare design and medical planning for hospitals, specialty clinics, ambulatory care and diagnostic centers. Also, his ACHA hospital experience includes Memorial Regional Hospital, Memorial Regional Hospital South, Memorial Hospital Pembroke, Mariners Hospital, Jupiter Medical Center, St. Mary’s Medical Center, Boca Raton Community Hospital and Baptist Health.
What’s more, Charles is highly involved in the South Florida Healthcare Association SFHHA as a member of the Board of Directors; providing thought leadership for the medical community.
Saltz Michelson Architects’ current healthcare projects include the Broward County Addiction Recovery Center in Fort Lauderdale, Lynn Cancer Institute 2nd and 3rd Floor Renovations including a new laboratory, chemo rooms and treatment spaces for Boca Raton Regional Hospital, and new Urgent Care and walk-in clinics for the South Broward Hospital District.
