Jackson Health Foundation hosted a dedication to commemorate the opening of Jackson Health System and
UHealth – University of Miami Health System’s state-of-the-art rehabilitation facility

On Friday, March 25, Jackson Health Foundation hosted a dedication celebrating Christine E. Lynn Rehabilitation Center for The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis at UHealth/Jackson Memorial, and presenting an award to Christine E. Lynn for her generous $25 million donation, which was crucial in helping fund the center’s construction efforts.

In March 2020, Jackson Health System, UHealth – University of Miami Health System, and The Miami Project to Cure Paralysis opened the doors to Lynn Rehabilitation Center.

Over the last two years, it has become one of the premier rehab hospitals in the nation. Boasting a multidisciplinary team of Jackson nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals working with physicians and scientists from the University of Miami and The Miami Project. Lynn Rehabilitation Center is steeped in state-of-the-art technology and cutting-edge resources. The 260,000-square-foot facility features 72 inpatient beds, an aquatic center, driving simulator, rooftop terrace, meditation space, transition apartments, and an activity garden.

So far, Lynn Rehabilitation Center has provided world-class care to more than 3,300 adult and pediatric patients recovering from spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, burn injuries, strokes, cancer, organ transplantation, and more. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the hospital also doubled as Jackson’s largest public vaccination location, helping to vaccinate tens of thousands against the virus.

Friday’s celebration featured guided media tours of Lynn Rehabilitation Center and some of its advanced therapy services, such as the HydroWorx therapy pool, driving simulator, Bioness Integrated Therapy System, Ekso Bionics exoskeletons, and ZeroG Gait and Balance System.
