January 18, 2023 – Cleveland Clinic Florida has appointed Amre Nouh MD, MBA, FAHA, as Regional Chair of Neurology. In this role, Dr. Nouh will lead neurology care for the Cleveland Clinic Florida’s Neuroscience Institute.
Dr. Nouh has held various leadership and teaching roles. Most recently, he served as System Director of Stroke and Cerebrovascular Disease at Hartford HealthCare, a seven acute care hospital system in CT, and Medical Director of the Comprehensive Stroke Center at Hartford Hospital, the first and one of the largest comprehensive stroke centers in New England. During the same period, Dr. Nouh was also Associate Professor of Neurology, Core Faculty and Vascular Neurology Fellowship Director at the University of Connecticut, where he fulfilled his passion for educating medical students, residents, fellows, and advance practice providers.

Upon earning his medical degree from the University of Alexandria, Egypt, Dr. Nouh completed his neurology residency at the University of Illinois. He went on to complete the vascular neurology fellowship at Loyola University Medical Center in Illinois. Dr. Nouh earned his executive MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management where he further cultivated his special interests including healthcare strategy, innovative healthcare delivery models, AI machine learning and marrying the latest technology with clinical care to improve patient outcomes.
Board-certified in both neurology and vascular neurology, Dr. Nouh has presented nationally and internationally on stroke and cerebrovascular disease. His research interests include large vessel occlusion stroke, stroke in the young, post-stroke care and uncommon causes of stroke. He has authored and coauthored more than 100 publications including manuscripts, abstracts, and book chapters. Dr. Nouh has also served as principal investigator and steering committee member for multiple global clinical trials.
In addition to being a fellow of the American Heart and Stroke Association and chair of the Northeast Cerebrovascular Consortium, Dr. Nouh holds professional memberships in the American Academy of Neurology and the American College of Healthcare Executives.
