September 28, 2020 – Cleveland Clinic Weston continues to expand and has completed construction on three new operating rooms. The new operating rooms became operational recently when the hospital resumed elective procedures previously postponed due to the COIVID-19 pandemic.

The OR suites were added as part of the hospital’s capital expansion program.  Each of the rooms is approximately 500 square feet and was constructed to accommodate a number of surgical specialty cases. They are equipped with advanced technology to support integration and the ability to broadcast live surgeries for educational conferences.

“We needed the additional operating rooms to accommodate surgical volumes,” said Rodolfo J. Blandon, MD, MBA. “Demand continues to grow for complex procedures and we now have additional capability to meet that demand.”

The expansion also includes a new lounge on the second floor of the hospital for caregivers who work in the operating room.
