Christopher O’Brien, M.D., AGAF, FRCMI, a renowned transplant hepatologist and gastroenterologist with over four decades of experience, recently joined Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital. Dr. O’Brien earned his medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and completed his residency and internship in internal medicine at Jackson Memorial Hospital. He then pursued a fellowship in gastroenterology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, followed by an additional fellowship in hepatology at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
As a distinguished member of several prestigious medical societies, including the American Gastroenterology Association, the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease and the International Gastroenterology Network, Dr. O’Brien is actively involved in shaping the future of hepatology and gastroenterology through his contributions to research and clinical practice.
Dr. O’Brien’s research interests include liver transplant, small bowel transplant and multi-visceral transplant, and he has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles sharing his insights on liver disease management and transplantation techniques. In addition, Dr. O’Brien is a dedicated educator, frequently speaking at national and international conferences and mentoring the next generation of hepatologists and gastroenterologists.
