Compassionate Care Hospice is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Alexander Fiuza, PhD, as their new community liaison for Miami Dade County. “Doctor Fiuza is a caring and concerned leader in South Florida’s healthcare community, he is compassionate and understanding with families and patients in need of Hospice services, we are delighted to welcome him to our team” stated Mrs. Mimi Israel, Executive Director for Compassionate Care Hospice in Miami Dade.
Doctor Fiuza has more than 20 years of healthcare experience, which includes working with chronically ill children and assisting the elderly with home health and hospice services, Doctor Fiuza will reach out to Compassionate Care patients and families strengthen relationships with area physicians and hospitals.
“I look forward to working with the entire Compassionate Care Hospice team in providing concierge hospice services that is aligned to the cultural backgrounds of patients and families” says Fiuza, who holds a doctorate in psychology.
A native of Miami, Doctor Fiuza has strong communications skills and the ability to build rapport with patients, families and physicians, He is fluent in English, Spanish, Italian and French, and understands the dynamics of South Florida s diverse population base.
Fiuza serves on the Miami-Dade County Coalition on Aging, and a member of Rallying Points National Resource Center on Diversity. Before joining Compassionate Care, Fiuza was Director of Client Services at Matrix for Miami-Dade and Broward Counties and previously director of community services for Catholic Hospice in Miami, responsible for community outreach, fundraising, and marketing.
