Regional health information organizations (RHIOs) and Health information exchange (HIEs) initiatives are ramping up for dynamic growth. Communities across the U.S. are mobilizing healthcare information across organizations to deliver clinical results and information to physicians and other health care providers at the point of care. The Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS) and eHealth Initiative (eHI) are sponsoring Connecting Community Regional Forums that are designed to provide key insights and practical advice to these state, regional and community-based initiatives.
The forums will bring together industry leaders to share their experience and knowledge regarding RHIO and HIE development. The 2007 forums will be held on May 3 in Orlando and May 10 in Boston. Solutions-driven discussions with industry leaders from the front lines of working RHIOs/HIEs will teach attendees how to:- Create a successful plan for implementation;
- Identify sustainable funding for all stages;
- Measure outcomes through clinical transformation and patient safety
- Initiatives;
- Develop successful products and services for revenue streams; and
- Provide value for all stakeholders.
