Coral Gables Hospital is proud to announce the appointment of Jeffrey M. Welch as the hospital’s Chief Executive Officer. As CEO, Welch will be responsible for all hospital operations, executive planning and medical services of the 245-bed acute care hospital.Welch has over 25 years of operational and financial leadership experience in major academic medical centers and community health systems. Prior to his appointment as CEO of Coral Gables Hospital, Welch was the Chief Operating Officer at Delray Medical Center. Among his accomplishments as COO, Welch spearheaded several innovative projects including the opening of a Special Procedures Room, new Cardiac Catheterization Lab, two additional OR Suites and the hospital’s newly opened Electrophysiology Lab. He directed operational savings initiatives, managed and directed construction projects, developed patient satisfaction programs and negotiated contracts for physician recruitment.
Welch also previously served as the Vice President of Operations at Riverview Medical Center and Assistant Vice President of Operations at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, both in New Jersey.
