The Dade County Medical Association (DCMA) is extremely proud to have secured reaccreditation for our Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program as granted by the Florida Medical Association. Our program undergoes rigorous review every four years to ensure adherence to our mission and the standards developed by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). The purpose of our CME program is to assist the association in its mission to promote the public healthcare, reinforce high standards in medical education and ethics, and enhance the quality and availability of health care in Florida.

Since 2018, the DCMA has reached over 2,800 physicians through attendance at CME jointly sponsored programs. The DCMA jointly provided 167 live conferences, focus workshops, and joint-sponsored activities. Content areas of the programs ranged from broad clinical and professional topics that related to the practice of medicine to specialized clinical topics pertinent to specific group of physicians. The total of 234.5 hours of instruction helped the DCMA meet our goal of assisting non-accredited organizations in South Florida to offer CME activities as determined by their internal needs assessment process.

Why should this matter to our community?

The DCMA is the only County Medical Society in the state that has secured full accreditation recognition and as such is able to review and offer CME accreditation through joint providership to other organizations and institutions in the community. We have done a lot in the past year or so, but we know we can do more!

We are actively looking for opportunities to expand our program throughout the region by offering more organizations and institutions the opportunity to offer the highest standard in medical education to their physicians. Whether local organizations want to start offering educational programming to physicians or national and international organizations want to travel to Miami and host a convention. We can even be a solution for current providers and institutions that find it more cost effective to outsource their CME rather than maintain a CME staff. Working together we can continue to advance the mission of the program and promote quality health care in our community.

The DCMA Continuing Medical Education program should be a point of pride for our community. Please let us know how we can work with you.
