Deborah S. Mulvihill, MSN, RN, FACHE has been named Chief Executive Officer of Bethesda Hospital West and System Vice President of Patient Services for Bethesda Health, Inc.
In her new role as CEO of Bethesda Hospital West, Ms. Mulvihill will be responsible for overseeing the operations of Bethesda Hospital West, an 80-bed, all private room hospital that provides medical, surgical and intensive care, with 24-hour Emergency Care for adults and children.
As the Vice President for Patient Services for Bethesda Health, she will be responsible for all nursing and clinical operations at Bethesda Hospital East and Bethesda Hospital West, which had more than 81,850 ER visits and 22,100 admissions last year.

Ms. Mulvihill joins Bethesda Health, after serving as Corporate Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer for Baptist Health South Florida since 2007. Ms. Mulvihill previously served as chief executive officer of Coral Springs Medical Center and Weston Regional Healthpark. She also held positions as Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Pembroke Pines Hospital, and Associate Vice President and Nursing Services at Cedars Medical Center. She has held nursing positions at Mercy Medical Center and Jackson Memorial Hospital, as well as other healthcare facilities in Florida and Illinois.
After earning a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Bradley University, Peoria, IL, Ms. Mulvihill began her nursing career as a staff nurse and held several nursing education and management positions in Chicago-area hospitals. She holds a Master of Science degree in nursing from Loyola University of Chicago.
Bethesda Health, headquartered in Boynton Beach, and Baptist Health South Florida, headquartered in Coral Gables, have signed an agreement to merge on October 1, 2017. The two organizations are currently engaged in a 2-year transition period to align corporate policies, clinical practices and operations. As not-for-profit hospitals, the two organizations share similar missions and a common vision for improving the health of their respective communities that can be significantly strengthened by this affiliation.
