Heather Gabai Hernandez, M.D., is an obstetrician-gynecologist and the vice chair of OB-GYN at Broward Health Coral Springs.
Dr. Gabai Hernandez became fascinated with being a doctor at age 9. Years later, she took her first job as a patient transporter which reaffirmed her love for the medical field.
“It was working in the ER that I realized I loved the thrill of the unexpected,” Dr. Gabai Hernandez said.
Dr. Gabai Hernandez is an advocate for nurses, passionate about mentoring women physicians and an extraordinary caregiver.
“It’s an incredible honor to care for patients in the same community I grew up in,” Dr. Gabai said. “There is nothing more thrilling than delivering a friend’s baby.”
Dr. Gabai Hernandez earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida majoring in psychology. She received her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine and completed her OB/GYN residency at Orlando Health-Winnie Palmer Hospital.
