Dr. Rami Elkhechen is a board certified fellowship trained sports medicine orthopedic surgeon on staff at St. Mary’s Medical Center. His interests include performing hip arthroscopy, open shoulder surgery, cartilage preservation, and orthobiologics. A native of Boca Raton, Florida, Dr. Elkechen graduated with a neuroscience degree from the University of Miami. He then moved up to New York City for medical school attending New York University School of Medicine in Manhattan. Dr. Elkechen did his residency at the State University of New York at Downstate Medical Center. Prior to his time at St. Mary’s, Dr. Elkechen pursued specialty training at the Oshsner Sports Institute in New Orleans, Louisiana where he also served as the assistant team physician for the New Orleans Saints, and Pelicans.
