November 22 2021 – The Florida Department of Health in Miami-Dade County WIC Program will host the 8th Annual Drive-Thru Holiday Homestead/Florida City Health and Resource Fair at the Homestead/Florida City WIC center located at 753 West Palm Drive, Florida City, FL 33034 on Saturday, December 4th, 2021 from 10:00am – 12:00pm.
The Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children – better known as the WIC Program – serves to safeguard the health of low-income pregnant, postpartum, and breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutritional risk by providing nutritious foods to supplement diets, information on healthy eating including breastfeeding promotion and support, and referrals to health care.
Due to COVID-19, this year the event will once again be Drive-Thru so that social distancing and safety guidelines can be followed. All attendees must arrive in a vehicle to participate. Families will be able to get important health information from local vendors, free food, free children’s books and toys, and enjoy music in a fun and festive holiday atmosphere.
