The Palm Beach County Medical Society Services and the Palm Beach County Medical Society Alliance recently announced its finalists for the 2005 Heroes in Medicine Awards. Among them is long-time St. Mary’s Hospital Administrator Don Chester, who will be recognized with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the awards luncheon, to be held at 11 a.m., Friday, May 13, 2005 at the Ritz Carlton in Manalapan.

“This luncheon is so important because we celebrate some of the most amazing healthcare professionals and their achievements in Palm Beach County,” said Dr. Lee Fischer, president of the Palm Beach County Medical Society Services. “We already have a tremendous slate of finalists.”

Winners in various categories will be announced at the luncheon, which will be hosted by Dr. and Mrs. Alan B. Pillersdorf and made possible by grand benefactor, Rendina Companies. WPEC Channel 12’s Liz Quirantes will be the mistress of ceremonies.

Proceeds from Heroes in Medicine benefit Project Access, a community-based program to increase access to healthcare for the uninsured. Tickets for the luncheon are $75. For more information, call the Palm Beach County Medical Society at (561) 433-3940.
