September 19, 2022 – Dr. Colby Redfield, Century Ambulance Medical Director received the Raymond H. Alexander – EMS Medical Direction Award from the Florida Department of Health during the EMS Provider Awards ceremony held in Orlando, Fla. on Sept. 14.

This award recognizes an individual who is a licensed Florida physician; has assumed a leadership role in EMS within the community, state, or nation; has demonstrated excellence in the areas of quality assurance/improvement and medical control; has successfully promoted the use of new medical trends and technologies; and currently has no administrative action pending from the Department of Health.
Dr. Redfield joined Century Ambulance in 2021 and oversees Columbia County and Taylor County 911 services in Florida. Dr. Redfield is responsible for consulting Century Ambulance on best practices to advance the delivery of care by its paramedics through expanding telemedicine, excellent education with the latest medications and technology paramedics have access to while providing life-saving care en route to hospitals.
For over 25 years, the Florida Department of Health has recognized the men and women who provide lifesaving services in times of crisis. This is a small way of paying tribute to the brave medical professionals and agencies that ensure the public’s health and safety in times of an emergency.
