Gail Austin Cooney, M.D., FAAHPM, of West Palm Beach, FL was recently elected as President-Elect of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM).
Dr. Gail Austin Cooney is Medical Director at Hospice of Palm Beach County in West Palm Beach, FL. She received her medical degree from Mayo Medical School in Rochester, Minnesota and trained in Internal Medicine and Neurology at Emory University in Atlanta, GA. Following a Neuro-oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, Dr. Cooney moved to West Palm Beach and practiced Neurology and Neuro-oncology before “discovering” her professional calling at Hospice of Palm Beach County.
