West Palm Beach dermatologist, Dr. Steven Rosenberg, was elected Chair of the Florida Board of Medicine during the December meeting of the Board  in Orlando, Florida.
 
Dr. Rosenberg was first appointed by Governor Jeb Bush to the Board of Medicine in 2006 and Governor Scott appointed Dr. Rosenberg in 2013. The 12 doctor and 3 consumer member Board is responsible for licensing, disciplinary action, regulating and rulemaking for more than 150,000 licensed practitioners in the State of Florida. Dr. Rosenberg has served as Chairman of the Rules and Legislative Committee Chair of Probable Cause for the Board of Medicine and currently also Chairs Florida’s Joint Committee on Marijuana. Rosenberg was one of three MDs appointed to the Joint Committee to Develop Pain Medicine Standards. These rules ultimately were adopted by the legislature in an effort to stem the pill mill epidemic in Florida.
 
Steven P. Rosenberg, MD is a Board-Certified Dermatologist practicing in West Palm Beach since 1980. He obtained his MD from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York in 1975 and trained in Internal Medicine in Los Angeles at UCLA-Harbor General Hospital.  He completed his residency in Dermatology at the University of Miami and was Chief Resident in 1979. Dr. Rosenberg has continued to teach at the medical school and is currently a Clinical Professor of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He has served as Chief of Dermatology at St. Mary’s/ Good Samaritan Hospitals. 
 
Awards include Practitioner of the Year from the Florida Society of Dermatology 1993-1994 and the Distinguished Service Award in 1997. He has been listed in Best Doctors in America since 1996.
 
Dr. Rosenberg has been on the Board of the Palm Beach County Cultural Council, the Board of the South Florida Science Museum serving as Chairman of the Board from 1997-1998., Board of Trustees of the Palm Beach County Medical Society, The Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery as well as the Richard David Kahn Melanoma Foundation.
