Aventura Hospital and Medical Center, a facility of HCA East Florida, continues to grow its capacity to meet the emergency care needs of our community. Earlier this year, the hospital broke ground on a $75.6 million expansion project to increase emergency room capacity and bring a new patient tower and parking garage to Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. Today, the hospital is only five months away from unveiling the expanded emergency room area, which will double the hospital’s current emergency room footprint with the addition of twenty-two new rooms, including fourteen general exam rooms and two isolation rooms, and state-of-the-art technology for rapid emergency and trauma care response. The hospital was designated a Level II Trauma Center on July 1, 2016, providing a needed access point for trauma care in northern Miami-Dade County.

The construction of Aventura Hospital and Medical Center’s expanded emergency room area is on schedule and was commemorated last month at a Topping-Out and Framing celebration offered by the project’s construction management firm, DeAngelis Diamond Healthcare Group. “We thank you for the quality and timely work to build this much needed emergency room space for our community”, said Dianne Goldenberg, CEO, Aventura Hospital and Medical Center. As part of the celebration, The Honorable Enid Weisman, Mayor, City of Aventura, Ms. Goldenberg and her hospital’s leadership team had the opportunity to sign the last structural beam of the new emergency room expansion area, symbolizing the completion of the structural framing of the space. Over the next five months, the interior layout of the expanded emergency room area will be completed with community tours planned for early April 2016.

The hospital will be breaking ground on a new three-story patient tower and parking garage before the year’s end, bringing 60 new private patient rooms and 513 additional parking spaces to the campus by fall 2017.
