October 25, 2022 – On November 5th the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation’s annual Fashion Funds the Cure event presented by Josephine S. Leiser Foundation Inc., will highlight the dreams of local pediatric cancer fighters in an upscale runway show at The Town Center at Boca Raton.

Fashion Funds the Cure blends high fashion with the dreams of local pediatric cancer warriors for an unforgettable evening designed to raise funds for pediatric cancer research. Guests will enjoy live entertainment, a delicious catered meal, and see the latest fashion trends from Town Center at Boca Raton. Evan Golden host of Eye on South Florida and Kristen Sanchez, morning news and traffic anchor on NBC-6 will return once again as the emcees for this event.

The fashion show begins as pediatric cancer warriors make their debut on the runway escorted by professional models, then continues as guests see their favorite men’s and ladies’ fashions from Dillard’s Department Store. The finale allows attendees to take a glimpse into the dreams of each pediatric cancer warrior as they walk the runway dressed as what they want to be when they grow up, escorted by someone from that profession. It’s truly an inspirational evening not to be missed.

I Am Courageous, a nonprofit that creates uplifting entertainment to encourage seriously ill children will be filming in partnership with NPCF for their “Dream Series” featured on YouTube. The “Dream Series” is a collection of videos that features interviews with the pediatric cancer warriors from Fashion Funds the Cure events across the country, hosted by teen actor and Disney Channel star, Gabriella Graves.

The NPCF has received a perfect 100% score for financial health and transparency and is recognized as the top-rated cancer charity in the U.S. by Charity Navigator for 11 years in a row.

Why is this important?

  • Cancer is the #1 cause of death by disease amongchildren.
  • 43 children per day are expected to be diagnosed withcancer.
  • Only 4% of the billions of dollars that are annually spent on cancer research and treatments are directed towards treating childhoodcancer.
  • More than 95% of those who survive childhood cancer will have a significant health-related issue by the time they are 45 because of being treated with drugs designed foradults.
