As the nation’s healthcare system prepares for the possibility of welcoming some 33 million new customers in 2014, Florida International University’s College of Nursing & Health Sciences (FIU CNHS) has launched a new Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree program. Graduates will earn the highest clinical degree available in nursing, and be prepared to fill an expanding variety of clinical care and leadership roles that will only grow should additional provisions of the Affordable Care Act become effective.With an eye toward all the potential implications of healthcare reform, the FIU College of Nursing & Health Sciences has also announced the recent appointment of Dr. Sheldon D. Fields, an accomplished health policy and government affairs professional, to the newly created position of Assistant Dean for Clinical Affairs & Health Policy. He will also serve in the position of Interim Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice program.
