Board Chairman Commits to Working Alongside FCAAP on Any Future Rulemaking for Treating Gender Dysphoria

August 5, 2022 –  Today, the Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics released the following statement in response to the state Board of Medicine’s commitment to work with leading medical organizations on any future guidance on gender-affirming care:

“During Florida’s Board of Medicine meeting today, Board Chairman Dr. David Diamond guaranteed that leading medical societies and gender-affirming care experts will be involved in any development of standards of care for gender dysphoria conducted by the Board. The Florida Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Inc (FCAAP) — which represents more than 2,600 pediatricians across the state — welcomes this invitation and looks forward to educating the Board on our long-standing, evidence- based standards of care for gender dysphoria.”
