The Florida Health Care Coalition is proud to announce that Karen van Caulil, Ph.D., has been selected after a national search by its Board of Directors as the new President of the non-profit organization. Karen succeeds Coalition founder and former President/CEO, Becky Cherney, who stepped down from the role in May 2011 for medical reasons.Currently, Karen serves dual roles as Executive Director, University of Central Florida (UCF) Regional Extension Center and Director of Health Planning at the UCF College of Medicine.
Prior to her work at UCF, she was the Executive Director of The Health Council of East Central Florida and collaborated with the other local health councils on many statewide initiatives to improve the cost, quality and effectiveness of healthcare services.
