Florida National University (FNU) offers associate, bachelor, and master degrees in a variety of fields of study, including nursing and allied health. There are also diploma and certificate programs for those individuals who would like to pursue a short program of study that prepares and allows them to find a job rapidly.
FNU’s Allied Health Division, under the leadership of Dr. Loreto Almonte, offers much in demand healthcare programs, including Physical Therapist Assistant, Respiratory Therapy, Diagnostic Medical Sonography, Radiologic Technology, Medical Assisting Technology, Dental Laboratory Technology, Dental Assistant, Medical Coding and Billing, and Health Services Administration. “FNU’s Allied Health Division team of professionals is committed to our students, and dedicated to educate and train them to be knowledgeable, skilled, and successful in the Allied Health field,” said Dr. Almonte.
For those prospective students interested in pursuing their education in Respiratory Therapy at FNU can earn an Associate of Science and a Bachelor’s of Science in Respiratory Therapy. National Respiratory Therapy Week was celebrated from October 22 – 28, 2017. National Respiratory Therapy was instituted during the late President Ronald Regan’s term in office, after being on ventilator support following an attempt on his life. According to the aarc.org Timeline and History of Respiratory Therapy, in “1982, President Ronald Reagan proclaimed the first National Respiratory Care Week.”
