Baptist Health South Florida will host company CEOs and top decision makers for a discussion with Arthur Agatston, M.D., on Thursday, February 14, about workforce wellness practices and sustainability.

Brian E. Keeley, president and CEO of Baptist Health, will present “The Business Case for Wellness.” In the United States $12 trillion is spent annually on healthcare. Three times that much is spent on lost productivity due to health factors such as diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol and conditions such as back pain, headaches and arthritis. Many of these conditions can be treated or prevented.

The 3-hour meeting at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami Beach begins at 9:45 a.m. Employer wellness programs not only improve the health of Americans, but also help control health care spending.

The special event gives top decision makers the opportunity to explore the links to prevention and workforce wellness practices with Dr. Agatston, medical director of Wellness and Prevention for Baptist Health and pioneer in cardiac disease prevention.

The event is presented in conjunction with Baptist Health’s Cardiovascular Disease Prevention Symposium at the Fontainebleau Hotel.
