August 10 2020 – Gary Shifrin, MD, FACC has joined Mount Sinai Heart New York in Palm Beach to provide general and preventative cardiovascular care to patients in West Palm Beach.  Dr. Shifrin is a board-certified clinical cardiologist who has been caring for the people of Palm Beach County since 1988.   His clinical interests include treatment and diagnosis of Coronary Artery disease, Hypertension, Lipid and Cholesterol disorders, Valvular heart disease and Arrhythmias. 
 
Prior to joining Mount Sinai Heart NY Palm Beach, he worked at Cleveland Clinic Florida and helped establish their Wellington office.  Dr. Shifrin was an Affiliated Assistant Clinical Professor of the Miller School of Medicine of the University of Miami.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association.   Dr. Shifrin is a member of the Council of Clinical Cardiology of the American Heart Association and has served on the Board of Directors of the Palm Beach County Chapter.  In addition, he served as a Counselor for the Florida Chapter of the American College of Cardiology.
 
Dr. Shifrin received his undergraduate and Master of Science degrees from Northwestern University where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa.  He earned his medical degree at State University of New York, Health Sciences Center, in Brooklyn.  He then completed his internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx.  He received his Fellowship training in Cardiovascular Disease at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
 
Dr. Shifrin has been a principal investigator on several national and international cardiovascular research trials for congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndromes, hypertension and dyslipidemia.  He has also participated as a medical liaison for local newspaper and television stations. Dr. Shifrin presently has hospital privileges at Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach and JFK Medical Center in Atlantis
