Surgeon, George R. Tershakovec, M.D., FACS, has been elected president of the 300 physicians on the Homestead Hospital medical staff. Before serving as president-elect from 2008-2009, he was chief of surgery at Homestead Hospital from 2006-2008. Dr. Tershakovec has served in many other leadership roles within the Baptist Health South Florida organization, including president and vice president of the South Miami Hospital and Baptist Hospital of Miami medical staffs, respectively.
