October 5, 2022 Baptist Health South Florida today announced it has named Glenn Waters as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for the organization, effective on Oct. 31. Waters succeeds Bo Boulenger who was named President & CEO of Baptist Health.

Waters comes to Baptist Health from BayCare Health System in Clearwater, where he has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer since 2016. Similar to Baptist Health in South Florida, BayCare Health System is Tampa Bay’s leading healthcare provider with 15 hospitals, 27,700 employees, and a diverse network of ambulatory services including laboratories, imaging, surgery centers, urgent care centers, and one of Florida’s largest home care agencies.

“Glenn’s vast experience in healthcare operations leadership and his unwavering dedication of service to patients, their families and communities will make him a true asset to our team,” said Boulenger.  “He shares our deep belief in our mission and our culture, which is the essence of our work.”

Prior to his role as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for BayCare Health System, Waters served as President of BayCare’s Hospital Division from 2013 to 2016 and as President of Morton Plant Mease Health Care, a member organization of BayCare Health System, from 2008 to 2013.  He has also held leadership positions at Moses Cone Health System in Greensboro, North Carolina; Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas and Riverside Health System in Newport News, Virginia.

“I am honored and very excited about joining the Baptist Health team,” said Waters. “I was drawn to this organization because of its commitment not only to high-quality care but also to providing a great patient experience to our patients and families throughout the care journey. I look forward to working together to care for South Florida.”

Waters holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Hampden-Sydney College and a Master of Hospital Administration from Medical College of Virginia (VCU).  He has served on the Board of Directors of the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation, United Way Suncoast and Eckerd Connects; and he is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
